Supporting the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust
As a home insurer, we understand the devastating impact frequent and severe flooding can have on our customers and their communities. These events also pose significant threats to wetland habitats and the species that depend on them, which is why we are committed to supporting environmental sustainability and climate resilience.
We are proud to partner with the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust (WWT), a leading conservation charity dedicated to protecting and restoring wetlands. As the largest contributor to WWT’s Climate Resilience Fund, we’re pleased to support the vital work that they’re doing to protect and restore the UK's wetland habitats so many of our colleagues and customers can enjoy them now and in the future. Protecting our wetlands is vital as it can help prevent flooding by acting as a natural barrier and absorbing excess rainfall, which can slow down water flow and reduce the risk of flooding.
WWT is working hard to create and restore 100,000 hectares of wetlands in the UK by 2050, as well as improve one million hectares of wetlands through locally led action around the world.
Our partnership with WWT reflects our commitment to help more people to look after their future and make a positive impact on the environment. We’re pleased to support a range of projects across WWT's reserves, from habitat restoration and species monitoring to flood management and community engagement.
