Case study: Supporting the Canadian Atlantic Coastal Action Program

Since we opened our doors in 1993, connecting with local communities and making a meaningful difference has been at the heart of what we do. This month, our Canadian operations announced a $40,000 donation to the Atlantic Coastal Action Program (ACAP), Cape Breton, to fund aquatic habitat restoration and watershed reforestation in Unama’ki, Cape Breton. ACAP is a non-profit organisation that focuses on environmental action and education in Cape Breton, Canada.
The donation will support the removal of debris from streams, replanting stream-side vegetation and installing digger logs to revive river health. The funding will also create at least six ACAP internships for aspiring environmental professionals who will oversee the progress of the year-long project. Additionally, our the contribution will support the planting of a minimum of 10,000 new trees suited to the local ecosystems, fostering environmental sustainability and biodiversity.
“Admiral is focused on supporting greener communities around the world and playing a leading role in helping more people look after their futures. We’re excited to partner with ACAP, so together we can enhance environmental sustainability across Unama’ki, Cape Breton,” Rebecca Cable, Admiral Canada Director.
